Program Manager, Jobs for America’s Graduates-New Mexico (JAG-NM) 



Jobs for America’s Graduates - New Mexico (JAG-NM) is a state affiliate of Jobs for America’s Graduates, a national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting young people of great promise succeed.  JAG-NM offers the JAG Model, an in-school program focused on helping students at greatest risk of dropping out to show up, reconnect, and graduate from high school, ready for college, career, and life.


JAG-NM is seeking a Program Manager who will be responsible for managing the JAG-NM services provided within the State of New Mexico, supervising the JAG Specialists, and serving as the liaison between JAG-NM and schools.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensures that the JAG-NM mission is adhered to, and model standards are met through site visits, classroom observations, discussion with school administrators and others, and advising, counseling, and directing JAG Specialists.

  • Supervises and evaluates the performance of JAG Specialists.

  • Enhances status and perception of program and resolves problems by developing and maintaining effective working relationships with school administrators and community leaders, and by serving as a liaison between schools and JAG-NM.

  • Advocates for the program and enhances its visibility by participating in public relations activities, attending meetings, speaking to various community groups, and talking to legislators.

  • Tracks and monitors to ensure that all documentation and reporting requirements are met in a timely fashion by JAG Specialists.

  • Plans and implements group meetings and two statewide JAG-NM events every year.

  • Participates in JAG program field trips when possible.

  • Reports directly to the JAG-NM Executive Director.



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with a variety of individuals, within and outside of the school system.

  • Ability to effectively develop positive relationships and diffuse and resolve potential sources of conflict and/or misunderstanding between school staff and JAG-NM staff.

  • Skills necessary to manage the activities and performance of a small staff from a distance.

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between schools in assigned area.

  • Skills necessary to effectively organize, manage and achieve multiple goals and priorities.

  • Ability to educate a variety of constituencies and interested parties about the program by developing ongoing relationships and making formal presentations.

  • Ability to effectively function as a member of a team.

  • Working knowledge of computer applications.
