IN-SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Building Skills for School, Careers & Life
JAG-NM partners with schools across New Mexico to provide students with consistent support, career-connected learning, leadership opportunities, and practical skills that prepare them for what comes next.
Through school-based JAG programs, students build confidence, explore career pathways, connect with employers, strengthen employability and life skills, and create plans for education, training, employment, or enlistment after high school.
More Than A Class
JAG-NM combines learning with individualized support and real-world experiences.
Students work with a dedicated JAG Specialist who gets to know their goals, strengths, and challenges while helping them stay connected to school and prepare for their future.
Depending on the school and grade level, JAG-NM programming supports students as they transition through middle school, complete high school, and prepare for their next step.

Build skills, set goals, strengthen academic habits, and stay on track toward graduation.
REAL-WORLD CONNECTIONS
Meet employers and professionals through career talks, workplace tours, job shadows, career fairs, mentoring, workshops, and other career-connected experiences.
CAREER EXPLORATION
Explore industries, career pathways, education and training options, and occupations that match individual strengths.
LEADERSHIP
Build confidence, practice teamwork, take on leadership roles, participate in service projects, and represent student voice through the New Mexico Career Association.
EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS
Practice communication, teamwork, professionalism, problem-solving, résumé development, interviewing, and other skills needed in the workplace.
NEXT-STEP PLANNING
Develop a plan for life after high school, whether that means college, career training, employment, military service, or another pathway.

A JAG Specialist is more than an instructor.
Specialists serve as educators, coaches, advocates, mentors, and connectors - building strong relationships with students while helping them navigate school, career decisions, and life beyond the classroom.
They also connect students with employers, community resources, education and training opportunities, and other support based on each student’s goals.
