Community Impact Statement

Issued August 2024 by Board Chair Andrew Mathis

Honoring Kay Provolt

For 16 years, Kay Provolt dedicated herself to building JAG-NM. For over a decade, Kay was the sole staff member. She navigated every challenge, celebrated every achievement, and left the organization ready to grow. Her dedication to New Mexico students has never faltered and her unwavering support continues. We are deeply grateful for her commitment and lasting impact. Thank you, Kay!

Founded in 2004 by four visionary women from across New Mexico, JAG New Mexico is a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Originally a school-to-work program for high school students, JAG-NM has grown to serve hundreds of students annually through numerous programs in various school districts. Our founders' dedication to supporting at-risk students has led to a significant impact, helping participants stay in school and acquire essential skills for higher education and the workforce. Today, JAG-NM continues to expand its reach, guided by the pioneering spirit and vision of its founders, Alarie Ray-Garcia, Toni Balzano, Gloria Ruiz, and Jessica Nojek.
