Alumni Spotlight

One of the standout highlights of this year’s Student Leadership Academy wasn’t just in the breakouts or the Egg Drop missions: it came from Rollin’ Thru ABQ, the dessert business owned by Frankie, a JAG-NM alumnus whose journey captures the heart of our mission.

Frankie participated in JAG-NM over a decade ago, supported by a specialist who is now JAG-NM’s Executive Director, Kaity Parent. Parent noting that Frankie's journey is 'proof that the relationships built in our classrooms can carry youth well beyond graduation.'

Today, Frankie is growing Rollin’ Thru ABQ, his dessert business that quickly became a crowd favorite at SLA. Students, specialists, and employer mentors raved about the treats he provided. The excitement around his treats was a great reminder that local businesses built by young people can be a shining example of leadership and dedication in New Mexico communities.

This year, Frankie also joined the inaugural JAG-NM Career Association Alumni Network (JAG-NMCAAN), stepping into a leadership role as part of the first statewide cohort of alumni supporting the next generation. His success as a young entrepreneur and his continued involvement with JAG-NM show our youth that their futures can launch in many directions and that their story doesn’t end at graduation.

At an event centered on exploration, new pathways, and possibilities among the stars, Frankie’s journey grounded the day in what truly matters: when youth are given support, community, and a chance to lead, their potential is limitless.
